Dr. Travis Thurston is a licensed Naturopathic Physician serving patients in Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. He has joined Northwest Health Specialties to provide specialized care through virtual (telemedicine) visits, making expert naturopathic care accessible to patients throughout the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii.
Dr. Travis provides comprehensive care for individuals and families with a focus on endocrine imbalances (including hormone replacement therapy, men's health, women's health, weight management, GLP-1 management, blood sugar/insulin management), complementary cancer care, and neurological health.
He is passionate about helping patients identify and address the root causes of illness while developing personalized treatment plans that support long-term health and wellness. In his Olympia, Washington practice, he also specializes in IV therapy and integrative pain management.
He is a member of the Hawaii Society of Naturopathic Physicians, the Oregon Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
Dr. Travis earned his undergraduate degree from Portland State University, where he initially studied microbiology and the biological sciences before discovering a passion for human psychology. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Biology before attending the National University of Natural Medicine (formerly the National College of Natural Medicine), where he earned his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. His clinical training emphasized metabolic disorders, diabetes, IV therapeutics, and hormone management.
Following graduation, Dr. Travis spent nearly a decade practicing on the Hawaiian Islands. He managed a clinic in Manoa Valley before establishing Island Natural Medicine in the heart of Honolulu, where he continues to care for Hawaii-based patients through telemedicine. He also collaborates with Dr. Nora Phillips at Central Health Hawaii, blending conventional primary care with a preventive, naturopathic approach.
In 2021, Dr. Travis relocated his primary practice to Olympia, Washington, where he founded Olympia Naturopathic Medicine and expanded telemedicine services throughout Washington and Oregon. In 2024, he partnered with Dr. Andrew Edwards to establish Deschutes River Wellness in Tumwater, offering hormone management, injectable therapies, aesthetic services, and other integrative treatments.
