A safe option for pain management
We use Regenerative Injection Therapy in Vancouver WA to treat a variety of conditions, reduce pain and inflammation, and improve function and mobility.
Regenerative Injection Therapy (RIT) is a medical treatment that involves injecting substances, such as dextrose or procaine into damaged or injured tissues to promote healing, pain relief and regeneration.
At Northwest Health Specialities we offer Perineural Injection Therapy, Neural Therapy and Trigger Point Injection Therapy.
Perineural Injection Therapy
Perineural injection therapy is a 5% dextrose (glucose) solution that is injected near superficial nerves to safely and effectively treat acute and chronic pain. Perineural injection therapy treats inflamed and injured nerves.
Neural Therapy
Neural Therapy is a healing method that has been used in Germany since the early 1900's. Neural therapy involves the injection of a local anesthetic such as procaine into scars, trigger points, acupuncture points, tendon and ligament insertions peripheral nerves and other tissues to treat chronic pain and illness.
Trigger Point Injections
Trigger points are tender points in muscle that result in pain when pressure is applied to them. This pain can also radiate to other areas in the body. We commonly refer to them as a “knot” in your muscle. Trigger point injections is a pain management technique that involves the injection of anesthetics into the trigger point to relax the muscle and relieve pain.

FAQ for Regenerative Injection Therapy in Vancouver WA
A nerve cell, like other cells in the body, needs several nutrients to keep it healthy, including glucose. When a nerve is injured, inflamed and lacks glucose, it sends continuous signals that the body interprets as pain. The injured nerves release a series of substances that can inhibit the healing of affected muscles, tendons, and ligaments, leading to chronic inflammation, sensitivity, and pain.
Dextrose is a naturally occurring carbohydrate utilized by the body for energy. Dextrose enters the nerve cell receptor and restores the cell to its normal function. This process leads to the decrease and eventual elimination of pain. The fluid in the injection helps to hydrate connective tissue and break apart fascial adhesions. Dehydrated tissue can exacerbate nerve pain by pressing tightly on the nerve passing through it.
